Ego Network

A network viewed from a certain individual’s perspective, e.g. “all my subscribers” or “all my friends.”

The ego network is a fundamental concept in Trust-Based Social Networks, as every user experiences the network from their own position in the graph.

Link any two channels/entities that share subscribers or connections, revealing hidden structural relationships between entities that may not be directly connected.

The ego network perspective is important for:

  • Personalized content and connection discovery
  • Understanding one’s own position and influence in the network
  • Privacy management through Circles and permission settings
  • Building trust through visibility of shared connections
